Gifted minors take college-level courses in Washington?
I saw on ABC late night news I think that somewhere in Washington there's a program where gifted kids can take college courses? What program is this?

Answer 1 :
It's not just Washington state; many high schools have dual-enrollment programs with local colleges. And it's not just gifted students, many students will try to take advantage of this chance to get a head-start on college. Some will succeed, and some will fail.
Answer 2 :
It's often called Running Start. I know they also offer it in Oregon. The kids get credit for both high school and college in certain subjects. The link below should answer your questions for Washington State.
Answer 3 :
It's called Transition School. My friend is doing it. If she succeeds, she will proceed to study at the University of Washington, at the age of 14. Had she been going to a normal school, she'd be in ninth grade next school year. I don't know if we're talking about the same thing, but they're taking all four years of high school in one year, then going to UW. Only students younger than fifteen can apply- and it's really selective. Only 16 kids are chosen. Link: http://depts.washington.edu/cscy/programs/early-entrance-program/ Oh, yeah, this is what you're talking about. It was on ABC last night, according to the site.

I haven't heard anything about that but you should go to www.collegeboard.com It has the statistics for all colleges, and maybe you'll find out some place better. But it will have more information.

anybody know a ok culinary college in seattle washington

anybody know a ok culinary college in seattle washington?
I want to do an entry level course in the beautiful culinary arts. But I don't have a lot of money to afford top courses and I'm new to the area. If anybody from this beautiful city knows I'd really appreciate it. If it's a state college that would great! :) thank you.

Answer 1 :
oh, it is very good, there are so attractive.
Answer 2 :
Seattle Central Community College has a good culinary arts program. Le Cordon Bleu has a campus in Tukwilla. Art Institute of Seattle also has a culinary arts program. Just a reminder, if you were living out of state before you moved to the Seattle area, you do not qualify for in-state tuition at Seattle Central Community College until you can prove that you've lived here for a full year and that you moved here for non-education purposes.

Answer 1 :
You're talking one to fifteen minutes' distance by car or what? Harold Washington is in the Loop, and there's no place cheap in the Loop. Most students there come in on the CTA--bus or el. We also need your definition of "cheap." Because even by el or bus, there might not be any apartments within fifteen minutes' distance that are what you might consider affordable.
Answer 2 :
One to 15 minutes away is still a pretty pricey area near Harold Washington College. It's located in the Loop and they are constructing expensive condos all around. At best, 15 minutes away put you at about the Gold Coast on the north, new highrise condos to the east, the new South Loop homes on the south and new lofts and condos to the west. Chicago has pretty good transportation (when it's working) so start looking further away to save money. Most Chicagoans probably have about a 30 minute commute to the loop each morning, so it's not out of the ordinary to live further away. There are no cheap apartments near downtown and Harold Washington College in particular. Start looking further out and expect at least a 30 minute commute.
