Which is better for a college Student: Miami, NYC, Atlanta, Washington DC or Other?
Can you guys tell me where I go to for college: Miami, NYC, Atlanta, Washington-DC, or Other places? What do you suggest for an international student? Up to Texas is ok. I don't want to find my self lost or bored in a city all by my self with no connections. Thanks in advance! The Major: Mechanical Engineering I need a place where I can find opportunities such as internships.

NYC
Answer 2 :
you're already sunk if you are just looking at the city home of the university 1) What will your course of study be? 2) Does this institution excel at this course study with recognized faculty? 3) Grad degrees (masters and doctorate) available in that field at this same institution? 4) What are the fees for an out of country student? all the best

Is everest college in tacoma washington worth it

Is everest college in tacoma washington worth it?
I've heard a great deal of terrible things about Everest. What's the one in Tacoma, Washington like? I don't want to waste 16k on a certificate / degree that will get me nowhere. I don't wanna hear about other locations. Just the one I listed. Anyone graduate from there and get placed well in a MA career?

Medical Assistant, right? You want any school you look at to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). You can find all the accredited programs near you here: http://www.aama-ntl.org/medassisting/caahep_prgs.aspx I didn't see the Everest branch in Tacoma on that list, but you can double check. Know that if you can find this program at a community college - and lots offer it - you'll save tens of thousands of dollars. In addition, the students coming out of the cc programs tend to have a better pass rate on the CMA exams than do those from the private/for profit colleges like Everest.
Answer 2 :
No. Why? 1. Your education is part of your entire image in a cutthroat job market, and Everest is not the look you want to go for. 2. Lets say you asked two dozen people in Tacoma who have the kind of job you want: "How did you get your job?" Do you think you'll hear: "Just a degree from Everest"? 3. With education, you can't bargain shop: why is their degree so much less $? (This goes for throughout the country.) 4. Companies everywhere place more emphasis on experience vs schooling. Therefore, spending thousands for an education isn't worth it unless it's for a recognized and respected university (U.W., W.S.U. or the like). I'd rather be out 50,000 but have an edge than 20,000 and be right where you started. 5. Even if the Tacoma campus is supposed to be one of the "better" ones, it's just Everest to everyone else. It's hard to convince someone you're the best candidate out of 20 other Everest grads because your Everest was so different than the other 2 billion Everests. And also, remember to ask tons of Q's about the "job placement" services if that comes up. What exactly will they do for you? Is it more than someone emailing you Craigslist posts or jobs that pay $9/hr.?

Is it logical to move from to Washington state from New York to attend community college

Is it logical to move from to Washington state from New York to attend community college?
My best friend lives in Washington and we have been talking about my move there. The rent would be $250 with everything included. I have about $1200 saved up, and would be attending a college nearby to her house. I would try finding a job as soon as I got there, and would continue pursuing my nursing degree. Does this sound like a possibility? I'm a little nervous about moving out. I'm still living at home, and thought this would be a good opportunity to be more independent.

I live in Oregon, and am a college student. God, hard to believe I am saying that now that i am 40. But to answer your question, yes, it does seem logical. Of course there is those pesky out of state tuition you need to address before the move, unless you can have someone vouch for you and tell them you lived in Washington for 1 year. $250 is a great deal, of course work in the northwest is nearly non-existant. But there is the pell grant at www.fafsa.gov, and many scholarships to look into, and if nothing else you can always do the student loans. So sure, why not, go for it.

10% of the student population at a Washington State college contracts the swine flu

10% of the student population at a Washington State college contracts the swine flu?
Medical professionals, I know you are tired of hearing of the swine flu, but do any of you have any information on this. Why is it attacking the young? Why do they end up acutely ill 24hours after being symptomatic? How did they come up with a vaccine so quickly? In other words, what the H*** is going on? PLEASE 10 points If you care about people you will reply to this question. We are talking about our young children and teens here!

Answer 1 :
It's attacking the young because younger people have weaker immune systems, as older people most likely have been exposed to something similar to the swine flu in their life, so their body already knows how to fight it off easier. Swine flu is just like the seasonal flu. It is only deadly to those who do not have strong immune systems. In my opinion, I think we are over-reating to the the virus. Mostly due to the media, for it was all they talked about for weeks on end. Hope I helped ^^
Answer 2 :
Hi Diane, Since last March when the strain of H1N1 was identified, the CDC and a host of pharmaceutical companies worked diligently to develop an effective vaccine. Many lay people (in fact the vast majority of the population) thought that once that outbreak was over, that would be the end of it. We (medical Professionals) knew better however, and began warning our patients and media outlets) that as soon as the H1N1 vaccine becomes available, by all means get it. This virus is very much unlike any viruses before. Instead of targeting older patients as is usually the case, the groups at most risk include young children/teens of school age, young adults, pregnant women, those with chronic illnesses and ANYBODY with a compromised immune system. I have been telling people from late Spring throughout the summer that we can expect to see a major epidemic by mid Novemeber, and my contacts at the CDC concur. Your statement, "... If you care about people you will reply to this question." is somewhat misplaced------no less than 50 times per evening the nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who check this forum and field questions respond. I'm not sure how much clearer we can make it! National and local news outlets (TV, cable, radio, newspapers) provide updates and warnings on a daily basis. But in order for any of these efforts to work, the general population has to use common sense, and if they fall into any of the categories I mentioned earlier plan on getting the vaccine as soon as it becomes available, which should be (according to reports this past week) by the end of the first week or beginning of the second week in October. Thank you for your question and concern.
